Win The 2017 Orange Hunt Estates Beautiful Yard Contest!

Our sixth annual contest to honor those residents who take phenomenal care of their yards has started and we have many nominations already.

Last year 9125 Donna Dean, 9385 Saddlemont and 9119 Steven Irving Ct. were winners.

All nominees must be OHECA members in good standing. Winners from last year are welcome to judge nominations but not eligible to win two years in a row.

So please look around for the well groomed, trimmed and colorful yards. Our Orange Hunt Estates homes are highly sought after by potential buyers, values are good and homes are selling like hot cakes. Orange Hunt is a wonderful place to live.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes: $100, $50 and $25.

Send all nominations via e-mail to president.oheca@gmail.com by Friday, June 16. Our committee will review all of your suggestions. You may even nominate yourself.

Spring Community Clean-Up Event a Success

On April 29, 2017 the Orange Hunt Estates Civic Association (OHECA) and Winston Knolls Civic Association co-organized the annual Spring Clean-Up at Orange Hunt Elementary School.  Neighborhood residents turned out with about 250 vehicle trips for the big item drop-off and about 100 residents took advantage of the convenience of the shredding truck.  The county took away four roll-off containers of “stuff” that included lawn mowers, mattresses, BBQ grills, bicycles, TVs and so much more.  The cost savings to community residents for the large item drop-off alone was between $1,500 and $2,500.  Residents who wish to join OHECA for a small annual fee and take advantage of events like this in the future can download our sign-up form here.

A big thank you to Andrews Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the Shred-it truck and for having some staff available to assist residents.

The annual Fall Clean-Up and big item drop-off are scheduled for September 30, 2017.
